The 55th edition of World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting was held in Davos, Switzerland from 20 to 24 January 2025. Through panel discussions, bilateral meetings and various speaking occasions at the WEF events, Mr Paul Chan, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, engaged with high-level representatives from governments, international organisations and companies. They exchanged insights on the latest global economic and financial landscapes, and discussed ways to enhance co-operation in trade, financial services and infrastructure. Mr Chan highlighted Hong Kong's unique role as a "super connector" between Mainland China and the world, emphasising the importance of collaboration, exchange and bilateral trade cooperation.

The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Erick Tsang Kwok-wai, spoke at the GBA - Europe Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference held in Budapest, Hungary on 16 May 2025. The event was jointly organised by the governments of Guangdong Province, HKSAR, and Macao SAR. The conference illuminated the enormous business opportunities brought about by the GBA to the European communities, and underscored Hong Kong's pivotal role as a super connector and super value-adder. Mr Tsang also met with political leaders from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary and National Assembly of Hungary during the visit.

Secretary for Labour and Welfare promotes Hong Kong's captivating accomplishments at international conferences and talent events

The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Chris Sun, officiated at the prize presentation ceremony of a pitch event co-organised by the Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) and a local youth entrepreneurship organisation in Munich, Germany on 8 June 2025.



The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Chris Sun, attended the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference held annually in Geneva in June, and met with senior officials from the International Labour Organization and various international organisations. He concluded his visit to Europe in Munich, Germany, where he met young entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and promote opportunities in Hong Kong for international talents. He officiated at a pitch event co-organised by the Hong Kong Talent Engage and Young Founders Network, a German youth entrepreneurship organisation. Twelve winners of the competition will be arranged to tour Hong Kong and other cities in the GBA this September to explore the region's I&T ecosystem and entrepreneurial opportunities.
