Hong Kong Films Presented in Brno and Vienna

In February, HKETO Berlin supported the screening of two Hong Kong films by Wong Kar-wai, namely “Happy Together” and “In the Mood for Love”, at the Filmasia Presents Festival held in Brno, Czechia. Apart from a retrospective of classic films by renowned director Wong in Czechia, HKETO Berlin also supported the screening of two new Hong Kong films at the Red Lotus Asian Film Festival held in Vienna from 23 to 26 April. Networking receptions were held after the screenings at both festivals for guests from the business, cultural, and media sectors to exchange.
Hong Kong’s Creative Art Tech Work Showcased at Munich Biennale
The applied research Art Tech project ARCHE, which combines elements of Kung Fu and opera, was showcased at the 20th Munich Biennale in May.
HKETO Berlin hosted a Hong Kong reception at the 20th Munich Biennale on 10 May, featuring a panel discussion themed “China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Meets Global Audiences: The Role of Art Tech”. This year’s Munich Biennale showcased ARCHE, an applied research Art Tech project, developed by a composer from the Hong Kong Baptist University and a stage director commissioned by the City of Munich, which uniquely combines elements of Kung Fu and opera.
Slovenia’s Lighting Guerrilla Festival
Hong Kong artist Wong Chi-yung’s artwork ‘The Tower of Light’ was presented at the Lighting Guerrilla Festival in Ljubljana, Slovenia from May to June 2026.
Hong Kong artist, Wong Chi-yung, displayed his light installation titled “Tower of Light” at the Lighting Guerrilla Festival in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 26 May to 20 June. His work is a dynamic light sculpture that draws inspiration from Ljubljana's famous Ljubljanica River.
