The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Berlin (HKETO Berlin) organises events in Germany, as well as Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland to foster cultural, commercial and economic relations between Hong Kong and the eight countries.
HKETO Berlin will sponsor the 18th Five Flavours Asian Film Festival running from November 13 to December 1, 2024 in Warsaw. The festival will feature a “Portrait: Stanley Kwan” section among others, showcasing both selected restored classics as well as more recent films.
HKETO Berlin continues its support for the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF). Switzerland's largest film festival will open its gates from October 3 to 13, 2024, presenting a selection of the latest Hong Kong film productions.
Presented by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society in collaboration with Berlin NewGen Film Festival and the HKETO Berlin, the film festival programme will be launched for the very first time in Berlin from September 20-22, 2024 at Cineplex Alhambra.
The 2024 edition of the Belt and Road Summit takes place from September 11-12, 2024 under the theme “Building a Connected, Innovative and Green Belt and Road”. It gathers senior government officials and business leaders from countries and regions along and beyond the Belt and Road to exchange insights on multilateral co-operation and explore concrete business opportunities.

Tang Shu-Wing Theatre Studio (TSW) will be coming to Europe for a tour from May 20 to 23, 2024. On May 22, TSW will perform a non-verbal rendition of Shakespeare's "King Lear" in Berlin, supported by HKETO Berlin.
HKETO Berlin will support the Hong Kong programme of this year's 3rd Red Lotus Asian Film Festival in Vienna. The festival will be held from April 25 to 28, 2024 and will showcase two current Hong Kong films this year.

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a worldwide tour that includes performances in Germany and Switzerland. The concerts take place on February 24, 2024 in Dresden (Kulturpalast), on February 26, 2024 in Zurich (Tonhalle) and on March 3, 2024 in Basel (Stadtcasino) with support from HKETO Berlin.
HKETO Berlin is celebrating the Chinese Year of the Dragon with a series of receptions throughout Central and Eastern Europe. On February 6, the Chinese New Year celebrations will be kick started in Warsaw, followed by Ljubljana on February 12, Berlin on February 13, Bratislava on February 20, Prague on February 21, Zurich on February 27, Budapest on February 28, and Vienna on March 6.
The Asian Financial Forum, which will be held in Hong Kong from January 24 to 25, 2024, is Asia's flagship finance event, bringing together the global corporate community, policymakers, and regulators to strengthen international collaboration. AFF is jointly organised by the Government of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). Early bird discounts are available until 30 November 2023 with the code F-BR30EB.
HKETO Berlin will support the 19th edition of the FILMASIA in Prague. The festival will be held from 7-11 December 2023 and will present a selection of Hong Kong films under the “Tribute to Ann Hui” from 7-9 December 2023.

HKETO Berlin supports the Special Olympics World Games, taking place from 17 to 25 June 2023 in Berlin, and for the first time in Germany. It will be a colorful festival throughout the city for more recognition and participation of people with intellectual disabilities. 7000 athletes from 170 nations will compete in 26 sports and two demonstration sports. From Hong Kong, a delegation of 119 athletes will participate in the event.

On 29 June (Tue) at 12:00 PM (CEST) the THINKTHANK, Centre for International Relations (CIR), together with the HKETO Berlin, will organise an online seminar to discuss whether the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated global research and collaboration in medicine and life sciences. The HKETO Berlin, together with the THINKTHANK, Centre for International Relations (CIR), will organise an online seminar on April 13 at 9:00 am (Berlin time) to take a look into the future of art amidst the increasing influence of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) on artists and their creation process.
